Offend Everybody

Because you will never win at not offending anybody

Every way I look, someone is offended. Every tweet I read has offended somebody. Bands are changing names, people are getting sacked, hashtags are being made. Everybody is out for EVERYBODY.

I feel at the moment I can’t say anything for fear of offending somebody. I continually self-edit and watch what I say even though I might think something — a valid fair thought — that I dare not share because — whichever entity you believe in (used to be God) forbid — I may not have taken into consideration everybody’s thoughts/feelings/persuasions on the matter.

What?

It’s not 1984 or Brave New World, it’s getting closer to Black Mirror — but it’s worse than all of them put together — already.

I get and applaud freedom of speech and the right to opinions and give thanks to the universe every day for the internet and the ability to share these ideas.

BUT

I don’t see the same from a LOT of other people.

It’s agree or be cancelled.

People are shamed or intimidated into changing their views.

I’m afraid to say anything.
